• After downloading the app from the official Cricut website, open it from the Downloads folder.

• Once you double-click on the Cricut file, a prompt will open to ask for installation; choose Yes.
• After that, a pop-up will show the app installation progress.
• When the app installation is complete, enter the Cricut account details on the sign-in page. (If you do not have an existing account, then select the Create Cricut ID  tab to create a new one.)

Mac

• Firstly, connect your Cricut cutting machine and Mac device via Bluetooth or USB cable.

• Moreover, click on the "Cricut Design Space" app in the Applications folder to launch the app.

• Now, a Mac notice will appear on the screen to ask if you want to open this app; choose Open.
• On the sign-in page, enter the Cricut ID and password or create a new password.

Templates

I use these templates when I have any design in mind and want to see how it would look. You can pick any blank, like a shirt, and put the design on top of it to know how the finished product will look.

Projects

The "Projects" option is beneficial for those who are beginners and those who want to create a quick design. In this option, you can choose from many ready-to-make projects and customize them according to your choice.

Images

As its name suggests in this section, you will get ample images to use in your design. Most of the images are free, but to use the free ones, you need to take a Cricut Access subscription.

Text

By going to the Text option, you can get access to numerous attractive text fonts. You can use these fonts to make a design.

Shapes

In the Shapes section, you can use different shapes to create a design.

Upload

The Upload section helps you upload your design from the device if you want to cut your own design or cut files that you see outside of Design Space. With the help of this section, users can upload PNG, JPG, GIF, BMP, SVG, or DXF files. You can also upload and customize a design if you want. 

How to Use Cricut Design Space to Create a Design?

Here are the steps you can follow to make a design for your project on the Cricut app.

• For the first step, open the Cricut Design Space app on your device.
• After that, click on the plus (+) icon from the menu to open a new canvas.

• Next, you can use the templates or image section on the app for your design. (Also, you can upload a design if you want.)

• Here, once you choose a template or images, you can edit as per your project requirements.
• Once the design is ready, you can send it to the printer (If using Print Then Cut) or to your cutting machine.
